In Edgewater, displaced by fire, comforted by faith

Seoungju Won says she remembers a million different thoughts Wednesday as she helplessly looked out the window of a bus on the way home from Manhattan and watched flames dance through her Edgewater apartment building. She was confused, angry and scared. On Sunday, Won walked into Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Undercliff Avenue, a few short blocks from the remains of the Avalon at Edgewater, and sat alone in a pew. She wanted time to reflect. She wanted to mourn the loss of the only pictures she had of her late mother. She wanted a semblance of clarity in the face of chaos. But most of all, she just wanted to pray.
