Wild car chase through Bergen County ends with arrest of Connecticut man

Sereymanta Kong, 22, was taken to Bergen Regional Medical Center on $1 million bail, Englewood Cliffs Police Chief Michael Cioffi said. He is charged with carjacking, resisting by flight, assault on a police officer, obstruction, eluding, theft of a motor vehicle, burglary and simple assault in the presence of a juvenile.

Resident to continue legal fight over LG building, report says

Carjacker leads police on a wild chase through Bergen County

A carjacker led police on a wild chase through several Bergen County towns Sunday afternoon, starting with the theft of an automobile with two children inside in Englewood Cliffs, involving the subsequent theft of a police patrol car and ending with a crash in the lot of an auto dealership on Route 4 in Paramus, authorities said.

N.J. environmentalist says LG compromise sends a message

The compromise reached between LG Electronics USA and opponents of its plan for a 143-foot office building in Englewood Cliffs sends a clear message, said a leading state environmentalist: “If you’re going to develop on the Palisades, you need to take into consideration the environmental constraints and the scenic viewshed.”
