Englewood officials sever ties with Birdsall citing the company's recent legal issues

A week after the council awarded Birdsall three contracts, a grand jury indicted Howard C. Birdsall, the firm’s recently retired chief executive officer, and six other high-ranking employees on charges that they hid at least $686,000 in political contributions that would have disqualified them from many of the government contracts they received statewide.
